Back to the Future

According to my all knowing doctor, I am not as far along as I thought I was...

THIS MAKES NO SENSE!!!

I know you are supposed to start counting the day from your last period, and my OB said, "oh you must have ovulated late." But here is the thing...(and sorry for sharing too much)...if I did than KW must have some long-lasting swimmers. Babies come from sex, right? Well, my doctor's time of conception means that babies come from rainbow kisses and unicorn dreams. (Or maybe fantasizing about John Krasinski at Jen @ Daily Mish Mash's March Madness of Men.) The math doesn't add up! It would also mean that I was able to get a positive pregnancy test 2-5 days after her imaginary conception.

I am a loose charter...I may not be perfect at it, but I KNOW what I KNOW!

Now maybe we'll get a different story when I get a new ultrasound next month, but until then I am stumped!!!

The important thing is that we saw our lima bean baby...and a fluttering heart beat.
Everything looks good, although she had to mention that I have large ovaries which could make conception difficult. "Oh, but you don't have a problem with that."

I really did like my doctor (not the best bedside manner, but not the worst), and KW was hilarious at the appt. He wasn't sure if he should come back, where to stand, what to look at...his discomfort was my enjoyment. Thanks, hubs!

As of right now, it looks like baby is due around Dec. 2nd. And that is fine, I just wish that I was not thrown back further into the 1st trimester. I'd like to be out of the danger zone.

Plus, the nausea is starting to pick up, YEAH!

Quick poll questions: did any of y'all color your hair while pregnant? It seems like caffeine...yes, no, a little, no, whatever...My doctor's handouts didn't prohibit it, and it is a little late to do anything now....but I'd still like to hear what y'all think.

  1. Congrats on getting to see the bean! Hang in there with the nausea, it will pass at some point.

I colored it with dash-1 (I gave up by the time -2 and -3 have rolled along). I think I was in the second trimester when I asked the dr about it. She asked if I sat with the color on for days at a time, point taken, I got my highlights and -1 turned out fine. For the most part. But those parts I blame on my husband.

I got the whole this is really when you concieved with -1 and well I kept trying to explain that it cuoldnt have happened like that since flyboy wasnt in the country but she swore it couldnt have happened when it did. Yeah he showed up at 38 wks as an 8 pounder. I think we know who was right.

  2. Okay, it's totally not possible to get a + test 2 to 5 days after conception. Seriously. I barely got a positive test 14 days after conception with the elder boys!

And, as for long-lasting swimmers . . . well, they do last a bit longer than I thought. With the month I got preggers with Judah, we figured out that hubs' boys lasted 7 days in there, despite some barrier methods, ha ha ha. Crazy.

All that said, I'm banking on your due date rather than the OB's.

  3. The "boys" can last 2-5 days inside. So it is possible that you did not conceive when you thought. However, a 20 day difference is quite large. Hey, I measured a week behind, too. Once I saw the heartbeat I felt better. Prayers for you. :)
